When things get busy, I get lazy with my natural hair. My family and I just moved into our first home, Kem and I are working hard (autism mom) with his school work everyday, I’m working a full time job, blogging, reselling thrifted finds on Poshmark, and then some. I’m sooo not here for my hair at times like this. Still I had to figure out a solution that would allow me to put my hair away for extended periods of time. It was also important that I still had unobstructed access to my hair so that I could moisturized, wash, and deep condition it on the weekends. Remember it’s not protective styling if you end up with less hair than what you started with. Even more important, I wanted to try something that looks very much – if not exactly – like my own textured natural hair. So I decided to try out a human hair natural wig from Xotica Hair.
How Does It Compare to Synthethic Hair?
Now y’all know that I love a good protective style with synthetic hair. It’s super inexpensive and easy to install. However, a human hair natural wig is even easier. Simply put it on and through the door you go. Human hair natural wigs cost more, but the investment in an Xotica Hair wig is worth it. I’ve tried their natural hair clip-ins at least 2 years ago and guess what, I still have them! They’re still holding curls after I unravel them from twists.
The same can be said for this Afro Kinky 4a/4b human hair natural wig. I tried the wig on straight out of the packaging and the curl pattern was a 100% match to my twistout curl pattern. Since making this review video, I’ve also moisturized and put chunky twists in this wig and no surprise it turned out bomb.
Cons?
I’m probably going to dye the wig darker to match my naturally dark hair better. Wigs made of virgin human hair like Xotica Hair’s Afro Kinky 4a/4b wig range from brown to dark brown. The difference in color honestly isn’t super noticeable, but I’m a stickler for precision sometimes.
All in all this wig is everything! I’ll be updating you on how the dye job went. Til then I hope you found this and my review on YouTube super helpful!
