Who would have thought a sweater and skirt combo could look so bomb?! Listen I am beyond ecstatic with this sweater and skirt combo that was forever in the making. I told you guys that I wanted to go bold with my fall style. *Nene voice* I said what I said! The sweater and skirt combo can really be a trial and error situation so choosing pieces that you love is super important. Seems to me like there’s a running trend of combining trends on the blog lately. First it was leopard with leather. Now it’s puffy sleeve sweaters and pleated skirts. I lucked out and was able to snag this popular Who What Wear puffy sleeve sweater . Target recently restocked it in this color so grab it now before it sells out again. It also comes in a black, white, and purple striped pattern, and I’m hoping that they restock that color as well. I could just live in this sweater and really hope that Who What Wear Collection makes it in more colors. I added a simple pendant necklace which is my favorite accessory for crew neck tops.

This quote really resonates with me because I really believe that you can have all the designer stuff, the latest this, and the exclusive that, but style is not something that you can buy. The everyday me is casual, but in most cases with a little something extra to express my sense of style. That’s just what I wanted to bring to New York Fashion Week and anywhere I go. For this look I took some thrifted (similar here) jeans and a tshirt from ASOS and leveled it up just a bit with two accessories.
Let’s be honest the suede fringe jacket is the star of this look and effortlessly added all the extra that this otherwise minimalistic jeans and tshirt combo needed. I’ve been obsessing about ugly sneakers aka dad sneakers for a minute and finally dived in with these Puma Electric Thunders. The little brown and orange accents on the sneaks tied in with the jacket and the red graphic on the tee nicely. If you like the look of dad sneakers, but want some that aren’t too “out there” these Puma Electric Thunders are great pair to start with (see more pretty dad sneakers here).

The ugly sneakers trend is not so new but when it first came out chilllee I was not here for it. I think that’s because the first few that came out looked like decade old vintage dad sneakers complete with dirt stains and dinghy white aging. Not to mention the price definitely out of my budget.
Now this sneakers trend has progressed into what I call Pugly Sneakers, pretty ugly sneakers. They give the same retro vintage vibes with modern tweaks, and are generally more affordable for us regular folks.
Ugly sneakers are definitely on my list for fall shoes to try this season. I especially want to pair them with my 9 to 5 looks for a footwear option other than boots. It’s a very 80s meets 2018 vibe but I’m here for it. Here are some pretty ugly sneakers to kick off the fall season in comfy style.
